Bauer grew up in North Hollywood, Calif. and played his college baseball at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). In 21 starts with the Cincinnati Reds, Bauer went 7-9 with a 3.76 ERA, 1.036 WHIP and 168 strikeouts in 129.1 innings. He’ll now join a rotation that includes Walker Buehler, Clayton Kershaw, Julio Urias and David Price.  With Bauer on board, the Dodgers’ odds to win back-to-back titles will likely increase. According to, the Dodgers currently have +375 odds to win the World Series in 2021. Since Bauer rejected Cincinnati’s $18.9 million qualifying offer, the Reds will receive a compensatory pick in next year’s draft.
