MANILA, Philippines—The Premier Volleyball League will have a new home on the airwaves.
Sports Vision Management Group chose Cignal TV as the league’s official broadcaster inking a three-year deal to air games on multiple platforms.
“We, at the Sports Vision Management Group, are looking forward to working with Cignal TV given their years of experience in covering sports events,” said Sports Vision President Ricky Palou.
“The pledge of support and encouragement not only from Cignal TV but also from the MVP Group of Companies is both reassuring and inspiring. As such, we are confident that the coverage of the PVL will be excellent to the benefit of its viewers.”
Cignal TV will be the PVL’s third broadcast partner with its previous seasons getting aired on GMA News TV and ABS-CBN’s Sports and Action channel.
ABS-CBN’s closure, however, meant that Sports Vision had to sign a new partnership with a new broadcast partner to air the PVL and the men’s tournament Spikers’ Turf.
Cignal TV, through One Sports+, has been airing Spikers’ Turf games since 2018.
The first professional season of the PVL is being eyed to start in April.
“We are proud to share the PVL’s vision of uplifting Philippine Volleyball and being competitive not only locally, but internationally as well,” said Robert P. Galang, President and CEO of Cignal TV & TV5.
